Relex & Claude vs Legora

Own your clients, your data and your firm.

Relex and Legora both put AI in front of legal work, and they make opposite bets. Legora calls itself collaborative AI for exceptional lawyers, sold to law firms and in-house teams through a sales process, on models it selects. Relex automates the work around the law, intake, drafting, signing and billing, and leaves the law itself to you. Your clients’ names never leave your browser, your know-how is never fed to a model, and you own the client.

The opposite bet

Legora is the bet that collaborative AI is something a large firm buys once, for everyone, with the model selected centrally and the client relationship already settled. Relex takes the opposite bet. The reasoning belongs to the Claude you already pay for, the client’s identity never reaches a model at all, and the professional, not the platform, owns the client and keeps 100% of what they are paid.

Why the pairing wins

Legora selects models inside its own workspace, and has publicly rolled out Anthropic models across the platform. Relex points the Claude you already subscribe to at your practice instead. Over MCP and OAuth, Claude gets the structure of the matter as a formal ontology, a private index of your firm’s know-how it can search but never keeps, and a boundary it cannot cross: real identities are sealed in your browser, so the model only ever works on [Party 1]. The reasoning is rented from Anthropic. The practice, the clients and the know-how stay yours.

Own the intake, own the client

The matter starts at first contact. Clients reach you by email, by WhatsApp or SMS message, or through a guest link, and what they tell you becomes a structured case the agent picks up without asking them to say it twice. Intake, drafting, e-signature and invoicing then run in one workspace. Through the Partner Network you are the merchant of record through Stripe, at a flat $99 per month and 0% commission on what your clients pay you. Relex never holds your client’s money.

Relex is a software platform. It is not a law firm, it does not replace lawyers, and it does not provide legal advice.

Questions people ask

Relex or Legora for a small or mid-size firm?

Relex. It is self-serve: sign up, run a real matter in the browser, and connect your own Claude if you want to. Legora is sold through a demo and sales process and publishes no pricing figures, and its own positioning is aimed at law firms and in-house teams buying a collaborative AI platform.

Both mention Anthropic. What is the difference?

The difference is whose Claude it is and what it sees. Legora has announced rolling out Anthropic models inside its own platform, selected by Legora. In Relex you connect the Claude you already pay for, over OAuth with no key to paste, and it works your matters directly while every client identity stays encrypted in your browser.

Is my firm’s know-how used to train a model?

Not in Relex. Your know-how is indexed into a private per-tenant corpus that is searched during your matters and never copied into a model, never used for training, and never shared. Legora states on its own security page that it will not use your data to train or fine tune any AI models.

Can I try Relex without talking to sales?

Yes. Signing up is free and takes one click, with no credit card. You set a PII password, add your know-how, and start a case in the browser. Per-case and subscription pricing is shown live on the pricing page.
